Yoga Teacher Training in South Goa: 200-Hour RYT Certification by the Arabian Sea

India · 21 days · From USD 599 (indicative)

A typical day is built around practice, study and meals, all on the same property. Mornings start with yoga practice, followed by a sattvic vegetarian breakfast. Teaching sessions cover asana, philosophy and the practical skills you need to lead a class, with mats, blocks, straps and bolsters provided. Lunch and dinner are cooked on site, and vegan options are available. Sundays are kept free for cultural excursions.

The 200-hour programme runs 21 days and is pitched at beginner to intermediate level. If you already teach and want to go deeper, the 300-hour course runs 28 days at intermediate to advanced level, and the 500-hour runs 59 days and includes dual certification. A shorter 100-hour course runs 11 days for beginners and intermediate students. All of them are held year-round in small batches.

What separates this from a comparable Bali programme is the combination of batch size and teacher background. With 10 to 15 students in the room, you get more correction and more questions answered than in a group of 30. The teachers are Indian lineage-trained practitioners rather than an international mix, so the philosophy component is taught from within the tradition rather than about it.

The setting is the South Indian coastline, with the Arabian Sea visible in the morning. Accommodation is furnished, with an attached bathroom and hot water, and is included in the fee rather than booked separately. Meals, props, course materials and certification are all part of the price.

Cost is the other obvious difference. The 200-hour programme starts from $1,199 all-inclusive, against $1,800 to $2,700 in Bali and $1,500 to $3,900 in Thailand. The credential is the same Yoga Alliance USA RYT 200 either way.
