The weekend is built around two sessions a day. Day one is mostly travel: the private bus leaves Colombo Airport at 1 PM, you check in at Makahiya, then do the evening class, The Challenger, before dinner. It's a good way to shake off the flight and meet the rest of the group.
Day two starts with breakfast and a choice for the morning class: yoga, or underwater resilience training. The second is a pool-based session that works on breath and composure in the water. After that the middle of the day is yours. Most people head into Unawatuna, a beach town on the south coast, for lunch and a swim. Lunch and transport aren't included that day. You come back for an evening bootcamp and dinner at the venue.
Day three is the hardest. You box in the morning, have lunch on site, then do a HYROX session in the evening. HYROX mixes running with functional stations like sled work, rowing, wall balls and lunges, and it's the class most people come for. Afterwards the group heads to Galle Fort for dinner. Dinner and transport are at your own cost, but it's worth the trip: the old Dutch fort has ramparts, narrow streets and plenty of restaurants inside its walls.
The last morning is a functional class and breakfast, then the bus leaves at 11 AM for Colombo. That timing fits the recommended evening flights to Chennai and Bengaluru.
What sets this apart from a typical yoga retreat is the mix. Combat training, race-style HYROX conditioning and an underwater session all fit into a weekend that also leaves time for the beach and Galle. The classes are pitched at all levels. Because it's only four days, you can do it with a couple of days off work, especially if you're flying from South India.
