Home › Retreats › Oasis Fitness Camp: CrossFit, Krav Maga and Surf Training in the Algarve
Portugal · 7 days · From EUR 28
A typical day starts when the coach wakes you, and there is a first workout before breakfast. Breakfast is a full spread, then the day fills with varied workouts — CrossFit-style conditioning, functional fitness, strength and endurance blocks — spread across morning and afternoon. Yoga sessions run at the camp, and the programme also includes beach workouts, excursions, surf taster sessions and massages. On the Fitness & Surf package, surf sessions are built into the daily schedule alongside the training.
What separates this from a standard fitness holiday is the mix of disciplines in one week. CrossFit and functional fitness sit next to Krav Maga, yoga and, if you pick it, surfing. The camp describes it as a combination of personal coaching and community training: you get individual attention from the coaches, but most sessions run as a group. Licensed coaches lead the training, and the camp states that all sports equipment is provided.
The setting is a 50,000 m² site in the middle of nature near Lagoa. On site there is a natural swimming pond with clear spring water, a sauna, a yoga terrace, a fitness tent and a functional training area. Billiards and table tennis are available, and mountain bikes can be booked for rides into the surrounding countryside. BBQ evenings run at the camp. The Algarve is one of Europe's sunniest regions, and the coast and its beaches are used for beach workouts and surf sessions.
Accommodation is in fully equipped Surfhouses, Safari Premium Tents, or on camper and tent pitches. Surfhouse and Safari Premium Tent stays are in double rooms, with single rooms selectable on request during booking. Surfhouses have a shared kitchen, living room and bathroom; Safari Premium Tents have a shared bathroom. Pitches have access to a common laundry room, and electricity can be booked for €5 per day. Free wifi runs across the camp.
Food is international with typical Portuguese dishes, and the kitchen adapts meals to preferences, allergies and intolerances — vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free are all named. You choose between full board (daily breakfast, snacks and dinner, with water at meals) or breakfast only. Tell the camp your requirements during booking so they have time to prepare.
Languages at the camp are English and German. English is used during the surf courses. Check-in and check-out times differ by accommodation type: camper check-in is 09:00–12:00 and 16:00–22:00, camper check-out is 09:00–11:00, while Surfhouse and tent check-in runs 24/7 and check-out is 09:00–11:00. A second version of the FAQ lists check-in for safari tents, surf houses and mobile homes as 15:00–21:00, campsite check-in as 12:00–21:00, late check-in after 21:00 for a €25 service fee, and check-out for all accommodation by 11:00.
