Soi Ta-iad is a road in Chalong, in the south of Phuket, lined with Muay Thai and MMA gyms, CrossFit and strength gyms, healthy cafés and hotels for people who come to train. It is known as Fitness Street, and it is spelt several ways: Soi Ta-iad, Soi Ta Iad, Soi Taied.
People come for a week, a month or a whole season. You sleep a short walk or ride from the gym, train once or twice a day, and the street around you is set up for eating well and recovering.
Most stays are booked by the week, from one week to a month. The price covers your room and your training: group classes (Muay Thai, boxing, strength and conditioning, circuits and more, depending on the gym) and use of the gym. What else is included (meals, airport transfers, private sessions) differs by stay, so check each listing's packages.
You decide how hard to go: one class a day is an active holiday, two a day is a proper training camp.
Ludus Phuket opens on 1 December 2026: its own hotel attached to a 5,000 m² training complex on Soi Ta-iad, with 81 group classes a week (Muay Thai, boxing, MMA, HYROX training, conditioning, spinning, yoga and more) and unlimited use of the gym. Stays run from one week to one month, in shared or private rooms, starting any day from 1 December.
Phuket's dry season runs roughly from November to April, with the most sun and the busiest gyms from December to March. May to October brings the southwest monsoon: short, heavy showers, more humidity and usually lower prices. The gyms train all year.
In Chalong, in the south of Phuket, a short drive from the beaches at Kata, Karon and Rawai and roughly an hour by road from Phuket International Airport, depending on traffic.
No. The stays here take beginners as well as people who train seriously, and you choose how many classes you do. Each listing says who it is for.
A week gives you a feel for it; people who come to change their fitness usually stay two to four weeks. Most stays on the street can be booked from one week to a month.
